After you purchase the template, you will need to sign up for a Squarespace plan (Business Plan or higher) before your free trial ends. If you purchase an annual subscription, you will receive a 20% discount on your first year.
If you don’t have a domain name, you will need to purchase one. I recommend using a third-party registrar like Namecheap. This will save you money in the long run.
If you want to use the premium header font featured on the template demo site, you will need to purchase the webfont license on Creative Market.
If you want to connect 5 or more of the newsletter signup forms included in the template directly to an email service provider other than Mailchimp, you will need to sign up for a premium Zapier plan.
You will need to sign up for a 30-day free trial of Canva Pro.
Sparhawk is an advanced template and uses CSS code to achieve that custom look and functionality. You will need to edit some code to fully customize the template.
It’s not as scary as it sounds. (I promise!) The template comes with detailed video tutorials that show you exactly what to do. You don’t need to know anything about CSS code to use the Sparhawk template.
That said, different people have different levels of comfort with tech stuff. If you consider yourself technologically illiterate, I strongly recommend working with one of our trusted design partners who can customize the template for you. Contact me for a referral.
If you already have your brand colors, fonts, content, and photos ready to go, the setup process shouldn’t take too long but it depends on which version of the template you purchased and how many pages you plan to customize.
Some Squarespace templates come packaged as build-it-yourself kits. Sparhawk comes pre-installed, which means no time-consuming buildout.
Sparhawk is built on Fluid Engine, the newest version of Squarespace. Fluid Engine gives you greater control over the style and layout of your website.
No, we retired the Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1 Classic Editor versions of the template in March 2022.
Due to the digital nature of Squarespace templates, we do not offer refunds. Please make sure you read all of the information on the sales page before purchasing!
No, we do not offer payment plans.
You will be added as an admin on a copy of the template demo. Once you accept, the template will appear as a new website in your Squarespace dashboard and ownership will be transferred to you.
Sign up for a free trial of Squarespace. Do not purchase a paid plan or transfer your domain name. Purchase the template and enter the same email address you used to sign up for your Squarespace account at checkout. Follow the instructions in the Launch Course to complete the installation with one click and start customizing your site.

No. The Sparhawk plus and pro pages only come bundled. If you want to use the Sparhawk plus or pro pages on your website within the next 12 months, I recommend purchasing the version you will use in the future now and you can disable any unused pages until you’re ready to use them.
If you’re a designer and you want to use this template as a base for a client project, be my guest! You will need to purchase a new license for every website you build using this design and you are required to retain the site credit page with a link to our website.
If you have specific questions or issues that arise in the process of customizing the template, you can submit a support ticket within 30 days of purchase. Please read the support policy for more information. You can also contact Squarespace support if you have any questions or problems related to the platform.
I offer advanced customizations—such as code tweaks and plugin installation—and support beyond 30 days at a rate of $100/hr.
